When it comes to improving your marketing, this does NOT always mean spend more money. Having dealt with thousands of small to medium businesses over the years, our team has come to understand that sometimes the most successful strategies are cheap, easy and often staring you in the face!

Marketing is also NOT a one size fits all equation. There are plenty of different strategies that you can use, some will work better that others and this all depends on:

1. The type of business you have

2. Your target market

3. Your Messaging

Before we dive into some HOT tips, let’s quickly re-visit the basics…

Back to Basics

Improving your marketing should start with recognising WHO you are as a business, WHAT services or products you offer, and what your audience actually thinks you do.

Understanding WHO you are

You might be thinking… well ‘duh?!’ But understanding who you are is more about recognising where your business sits, what defines WHO you are as a brand and what makes you unique.

Understanding WHAT you offer

When you have a good understanding of your products or services, you are able to determine what sets YOUR offer apart from the rest in the market. WHY should people choose YOU? This is an important element to understand in business.

Does your audience understand?

While this might sound obvious, it is of course also important to make sure that WHAT you are selling and WHO you are as a business is just as clear to your audience as it is to you. Sometimes we end up TOO close to our business and forget to take a step back with fresh eyes.

If answering and understanding the above elements, seem a little overwhelming, we know a few simple, yet effective ways of getting a grasp on these concepts.

Stay tuned for PART 2 of our 'Improve your marketing' series.
